Anxiety Therapy for women

Helping women find relief from constant worry and overwhelm and rediscover a sense of calm and clarity

When Your Mind Won’t Shut Off and anxiety takes over your life, you may feel like you’re living in survival mode.

You may wake up already feeling worried, find yourself constantly on edge, lie awake at night replaying everything that happened during the day, or worrying about things you can’t control. Even when nothing is “wrong,” your body feels tense and your mind won’t slow down. Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background -  taking over your inner world, leaving you feeling restless, unsettled, and emotionally drained. Even moments that should feel calm can feel tense and exhausting.

Anxiety doesn’t just live in your mind, it disrupts everyday living

Anxiety has many faces, and it doesn’t always look the way you expect. Instead of just feeling stressed, it often shows up as trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, irritability with the people you love, or a constant sense of pressure. You might feel restless in your body, more easily overwhelmed and decision-making becomes harder.

You may notice that you don’t bounce back the way you used to or that your emotions feel closer to the surface - the load of supporting everyone else can leave your nervous system working overtime. You may appear fine on the outside while inside you feel stretched thin, like you’re barely holding it together. Anxiety has affected your relationships, work and ability to enjoy life.

How Anxiety Therapy Can Help?

Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath your anxiety, and learn practical ways to feel calmer and more steady in your daily life so you can begin to:

  • Understand why your mind and body react the way they do, so anxiety feels less confusing and overwhelming

  • Identify triggers, thought patterns, and habits that keep you stuck in anxiety cycles

  • Learn how to manage anxious thoughts and emotions more effectively, allowing your mind to slow down and feel more in control

  • Develop practical tools to calm your nervous system, so your body can move out of constant “fight or flight”

  • Respond to stress with greater confidence and resilience, instead of feeling stuck in survival mode

MY APPROACH

A Clear Path Toward Lasting Relief: Together, we create a personalized therapy plan that provides structure, flexibility, and a path toward meaningful change.

01 - UNDERSTAND

We start by understanding how anxiety shows up in your life and the ways it affects your thoughts, emotions, and daily experiences. Together we’ll explore your symptoms, past experiences that have shaped your responses and thought patterns, and the situations that tend to trigger anxiety.

As you begin to recognize warning signs and unhelpful patterns, you’ll develop greater self-awareness and insight into what’s driving your anxiety. Understanding how your mind and nervous system respond to stress is often the first step toward feeling less overwhelmed by it.

02 - PRACTICE

Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness, and stress-reduction techniques, you’ll learn practical tools to manage anxiety in real time. These strategies help you slow racing thoughts, regulate your emotions, and release tension in your body. Many clients come to me wanting more than just a place to talk about their struggles—they want tangible tools that actually work. Each session is designed to give you something you can take with you: new insights, practical strategies, and clear ways to apply what we discuss in your daily life.

Over time, these skills begin to build on each other,  allowing you to feel more grounded, respond to stress more calmly, and navigate everyday challenges with greater confidence.

03 - TRANSFORM

While learning practical tools is helpful in managing anxiety, lasting relief often comes from addressing the deeper experiences that keep your nervous system stuck in patterns of chronic stress and anxiety. My goal is to help you move from symptom management and toward healing at the root. Through EMDR therapy, we use your brain’s natural healing process to resolve distressing past experiences so they no longer trigger the same intensity of anxiety in the present. As this processing occurs, many clients begin to feel calmer, more resilient, and less overwhelmed by situations that once felt difficult to manage.

The goal is for you to reach a point where anxiety no longer holds you back from the life you want to live—feeling confident in your ability to move forward and knowing therapy has helped you create meaningful, lasting change.

questions about anxiety therapy

FAQs

  • Feeling worried or stressed at times is a normal part of life. However, anxiety may be present when worry becomes persistent, difficult to control, or begins interfering with your everyday life. You might notice symptoms such as constant overthinking, trouble sleeping, feeling on edge, irritability, or ongoing overwhelm. If anxiety is starting to impact your relationships, work, or ability to relax and enjoy life, it may be a sign that it’s becoming more than everyday stress. Without treatment, anxiety can worsen over time. The good news is that anxiety is highly treatable, and working with a therapist who specializes in anxiety can help you develop effective ways to manage it and regain a sense of control.

  • While anxiety can be a natural human response, it can become overwhelming when your mind and body are stuck in a constant state of stress and it begins to interfere with daily life.. The goal of therapy isn’t necessarily to eliminate anxiety completely, but to help you understand and manage it in a way that no longer controls your thoughts, emotions, or decisions. With effective treatment, many people experience significantly reduced anxiety, feel more in control of their reactions, and move through life with greater calm and confidence. Over time, anxiety often becomes far less disruptive and much easier to navigate.

  • Anxiety therapy is a collaborative, goal-focused process where your needs guide the work. In each session, within a safe and supportive space, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, identify what’s contributing to your anxiety, and practice practical tools to manage stress, tension, and physical symptoms. Sessions are designed so you leave with insight, strategies you can use in daily life, and a growing sense of calm and relief.

  • Yes. EMDR (Eye Movement desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that can be highly effective in addressing anxiety and panic at their root. EMDR helps the brain safely process experiences—whether past traumas or persistent worries—that contribute to ongoing anxiety. Unlike approaches that focus only on managing symptoms, EMDR targets the underlying patterns and memories that keep anxiety active, allowing your nervous system to respond more calmly in the present. As a therapist experienced in using EMDR, I guide clients through this process alongside practical coping strategies, helping them experience real relief.

  • Many clients are able to significantly reduce their anxiety through therapy without the need for medication. Effective anxiety treatment often involves using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies and EMDR. In addition to therapy, lifestyle adjustments and stress-reduction techniques can also produce effective results. As a therapist specializing in anxiety treatment, my goal is to create a personalized plan that helps you experience lasting relief. When appropriate, medication can also be a helpful part of treatment, and I can connect you with trusted medical providers to explore whether it may be a supportive addition to our work together.
